GCAP Pushes for The World We Want at the G8 France
GCAP France have reported back after meeting with the French presidency and Sherpas that African Presidents from Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Senegal and South Africa will be invited to the G8 summit, specially for the partnership with Africa session.
The G8 Summit, being hosted by France in Deauville will be held on the 26th-27th May, 2011.
In the light of this new development, GCAP is requesting national coalitions in Egypt, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Senegal and South Africa to do a special presidential lobby/ hand over letter to the presidency or Minister of Foreign Affairs before your president travels to France.
The essence of the lobby is to share GCAP Africa’s position pertaining to Africa’s partnership with the G8, including our position on Economic partnership agreements.
We kindly request that you circulate this message as quickly as possible to your members, book an appointment with the presidency or Minister of Foreign Affairs for a possible meeting/handover early next week.
