A Message for the G20's Five Asian Members

The constituents of GCAP Asia and the Asia Development Alliance have sent a clear message to the five Asian members of the G20:  it's time to step up to ensure that equality and equity are pillars of growth and development and that corruption has no place in our nations or communities.  The joint letter, which was drafted at the G20 Civil Summit, is being presented to political leaders and the G20 'sherpas' (government negotiators) from China, India, Indonesia, Korea and Japan.

Threats to Civil Society Space - Joint Statement from the G20 Civil Summit in Russia

The June G20 Civil Summit in Moscow was held amidst an atmosphere of shrinking space for civil society, both in Russia and around the world.  GCAP and a number of its constituents worked with other civil society organisations to issue the following Media Release, in English and Russian, condemning actions that limit civil society work and calling for genuine and committed engagement by the G20 with civil society.

Over 80 representatives of civil society organizations and government agencies met at Barifa Camp in Arua District, over 300km outside of Kampala in Uganda to dialogue on food and nutrition security in the country. 

GCAP India Organizes Civil Society Review of Indian Government

Wada Na Todo Abhiyan (WNTA organised a Civil Society Review of the 2nd year of UPA-II on 23rd and 24th June 2011 at Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi to evaluate the performance of UPA-2 government over the past one year.

A Report Card was released by Shri A.B. Bardhan, General Secretary, CPI  and Nikhil Dey, (MKSS) on 23rd June in the Inaugural session.
