All across the country, ONE members are organizing, calling their senators and asking them to support the Kerry-Lugar amendment that would restore the $4 billion cut to the International Affairs Budget. Here’s an update from some ONE members who are hard at work. Be sure to take action here

We just sent an email out asking ONE Members across the country to call their senators and ask them to vote for the Kerry-Lugar Amendment that would restore potentially devastating cuts to the International Affairs Budget.

The Senate Budget Committee, chaired by Senator Kent Conrad, wants to cut $4 billion from the president’s International Affairs Budget—the part of the budget funding almost all of our anti-poverty work, from fighting global AIDS to making sure the hunger crisis doesn’t turn into a starvation crisis.

When’s the last time you taught your member of Congress something new? ONE members across the country have been delivering information packets and meeting requests to their members of Congress’s offices, and we are already seeing results! Volunteer Nate Smith recently met with Rep. Bob Etheridge of North Carolina’s second district.
